Adrenal Elixir Recipe

This is an elixir originally created by the Root Cause Protocol Institute that is extremely supportive for your hormones.


This elixir helps replenish the minerals and vitamins lost during times of excessive stress to support overall balance in the body.


Remember, this alone won’t fix your hormone or #mineral imbalances but can be added in for extra support. You still must address diet, lifestyle and stress to see improvements.


This #adrenal elixir consists of:


1. 8oz 100% organic orange juice (not from concentrate)

2. 1/2 tsp himalayan sea salt

3. 1/2 tsp cream of tartar

4. 1/2 scoop of Paleovalley grass fed bone broth protein (go to my shop for 15% discount)

Optional: 100% organic coconut water for an extra boost of minerals

1. Whole Food Vitamin C (orange juice)- The adrenal glands are where 95% of whole food vitamin c is stored and chronic stress depletes your body of vitamin c very quickly. Whole food vitamin c also contains bioavailable copper which is important for many functions in the body.

2. Sodium- This is one of the first minerals lost during stressful times and is important for many functions in the body.


3. Potassium (cream of tartar or coconut water)- The body starts to lose potassium when sodium isn’t replenished. Many of us are deficient in potassium and it is important for many functions in the body too especially your thyroid.


4. Collagen/Bone Broth Protein- to keep blood sugar levels happy and stable! You don’t want to have carbs or protein alone- but together is great :)


The electrolytes; #sodium and #potassium are much better absorbed when paired with whole food vitamin c. If you are a slow #oxidizer (most of us are), this is a great elixir to help boost sodium and potassium levels which can then balance out the rest of your minerals. However, I recommend booking an appointment with us to do an HTMA test to determine if you are a slow, fast or transition oxidizer and give insight into your entire metabolic health. If you are not eating and living a metabolically supportive life, it does not matter how many of these you drink- you will not see results.

I recommend drinking this elixir at least one hour after a meal.


This elixir is meant to give your adrenals the nutrients they need to function optimally which will help your body respond to stress better. If you experience #adrenalfatigue aka chronic stress for too long than your adrenals will slowly produce less and less #cortisol leaving you with extreme fatigue and very depleted minerals especially sodium, potassium and #magnesium. These 3 minerals along with calcium are the first level macro minerals, primary electrolytes and control all the chemical reactions in the body. You need to bring these first four minerals back in balance in order for all your other minerals to balance out.
